Stampin' Up! Custom Stamps

Monday, November 12, 2012

Did you know that Stampin' Up has an incredible selection of custom stamps!  Everything from address stamps in different fonts to Monograms!

I recently purchased a brand new Monogram stamp perfect for Christmas tags, cards, and presents!  There is still lots of time to order your personalized stamp before Christmas!  Click http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/karolina/ to order yours or email me karolinastamps@gmail.com

Here are directions on how to mount and use your personalized stamp:

In your order you will receive a wood block, your stamp and sticker for your block.

First, you need to trim your stamp.  I used Stampin' Up! paper snips to do so because they are extra sharp and pointy!

Next, you need to mount your stamp on to the wood block.  Also, trim your sticker to fit on your block.

Lastly, stick your label on to the block!  Voila!

I would suggest using a Stampin' Write Marker on your stamp if you are using it on tags or cards.  Bonus...makers are inexpensive and a great way to boost your colour selection!  If you are using your stamp on the outside of an envelope (ex. address stamp) then I would strongly suggest you use StazOn ink.  It is a solvent based ink and the ink will not run if wet, which is really important if you are mailing your card during rainy or snowy seasons!  Gently tap it in the ink so that the stamp doesn't get too inky.

Happy Stamping!

Traditional Touches Christmas Card

Monday, October 8, 2012

It's getting to be my favourite time of year...Christmas card making season!

I think it's wonderful to update traditional Christmas cards by using non-traditional colours.  It's a modern update!

Here I am using 2011-2013 In-colour markers to ink the Traditional Touches single stamp.  I'm also using some lovely silver glimmer paper and paper from the Designer Series Paper Stack (2011-2013 colours).  Add some rhinestone accents and you are set to go!  Simple, elegant, and modern!  Just my kind of card!  And...you will be seeing this one in this year's Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack classes!

French Foliage Falling Leaves Card

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

I've got a special treat to share!  This beautiful one layer card is made by my good friend Meghan.  The colours remind me of the trees here in Edmonton!

Meghan masked the area where the Thank You is stamped and used some random stamping to get the falling leaves effect.

Thanks for sharing Meghan!  Keep sending me those beautiful cards!

Here's what you will need to recreate this beauty:

Vanilla card stock
French foliage stamp set
Elegant thank you stamp
Ink Colours: More mustard, pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler and always artichoke
Extra large decorative label punch for masking

Swap Card on Stampin' Up Boards!

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Ok, I am so excited!  I was checking out pictures of some Stampin' Up! Regional Conventions in the US and saw my swap card on the Halloween Board!!!  It feels awesome!  Here is the post I had for my swap card:

Here is the swap I brought with me to Convention.  Now, I have a confession to make.  I actually kept forgetting to make swaps because work and family life was getting very busy.  So the day before leaving, I enlisted the help of my mom to pump out a whole bunch of swaps.  Here is the creation we made.  I love it!!

Those who know me well know that I have not been super fond of Halloween BUT since having my girls, I have slowly started to enjoy it more through their eyes.  But since seeing the Googly Ghouls set in the new Holiday Catalogue coming out on August 01, 2012, I am loving Halloween themed cards!

There are so many sneak peeks in this card!  Wood grained embossing folder, GOOGLY EYES!!!, new sanding blocks, and new Core'dinations paper in Early Espresso!

This card will put a smile on anyone's face who opens it in the mail!

To order these supplies, click here!

Leave your comments here!  I want to know, is this card cute or what??  :)

Thursday, September 6, 2012

As some of you may already know, my favourite new stamp set is "Googly Ghouls".  I just love cute Halloween items!

Here is a great and super simple idea to make some Halloween favours for school, daycare, or even your coworkers!

Stamp any Googly Ghoul in Pumpkin Pie or Tangerine Tango.  Punch with the Postage Stamp Punch. Snail on to a piece of folded Basic Black Cardstock and snail onto the top of our 1x8 inch cellophane bags (super duper inexpensive bags!!).

Don't forget to add our NEW Googly Eyes self-adhesive 3-D stickers!  And VOILA!

Don't forget!  This is a super easy craft for your kids to do.  My daughter stamped the image and punched it out!

What do you think?  I would love to hear!

Ribbon Share for NEW 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon - Canada

Thursday, August 2, 2012

I've had great success with my latest ribbon share!  I have decided to expand and start shipping it to anywhere in Canada!  Here's a peak at what my local crafters got with their ribbon share:

Here's how it works:  Instead of spending just over $70 to get all 5 colours of ribbon, you receive approx. 2 yards of each colour (equivalent to 1 full spool)!   This is a wonderful way to enjoy having all the colours without spending a lot of money.  You get just the right amount of each colour to make dozens of projects with.

I will ship this lovely set of ribbons directly to your home for $16.00 CAD (anywhere in Canada).  If you can pick up in Edmonton, you will save about $2.

I'll have a new set of these ready to ship early next week.  Contact me to order yours!

Catalogue CASE!

Sunday, July 29, 2012

I may be a crafty person but when inspiration is running low I like to CASE (Copy And Share Everything!).  Basically, you are getting inspiration from another card and making it your own!  In this case, hahahaha, I am CASE-ing from the Catalogue on Page 39.  Click on the Catalogue Icon on the left to find the original!

A lovely customer asked me to make this for her sister's wedding.  It will be displayed on the cupcake table!  I used the Notable Alphabet (NEW product alert!) for the initals.

Stampin' Confession Time....the blue paper is discontinued...BUT it matched the Bride's blue so well and if you have paper at home, discontinued or not, you should use it!  It's such a pretty blue too!

Can't wait to see a picture of this "in action" on the big day!

Catalogue Launch Par-Tay!

Friday, June 22, 2012

The NEW 2012-2013 catalogue has got me inspired!  I think one of the things that I like most about it is that all the projects and techniques they picture can be easily replicated at home!  No mad stamping skills required!  LOL.  I love clean and simple and the new catalogue is just right!

This Sunday I am hosting a Catalogue Launch Party at my home in Edmonton.  If you are around between 2-4 and would like to join in on the fun, please send me an email!  There is still some room!

Here is one of the cards we will be making...for FREE might I add!

I can't take credit for the design.  As a demonstrator, we get a monthly magazine from Stampin' Up! called Stampin' Success and in it are loads of ideas!  This design was one of them.  I did tweak the colours and stamps and embossing though!

Here I've used Circle Circus Stamp set in Versamark on the NEW 2012-2014 In-Colours!  The sentiment is from Up, Up and Away and I used the Houndstooth embossing folder although next time I might try the Chevron pattern!

Learning Her Letters with Stampin' Up!

Monday, May 21, 2012

Today we used an awesome stamp to help my daughter practice writing her letters!  The stamp is called "School Lines" (122625, only $11.95) and I inked it up in Gumball Green (a new In-Colour for 2012-2014).  I stamped it on the back of a used piece of grid paper from my card class the day before.  Quick and easy activity for young children!

Hurry though, this stamp is being discontinued May 31st, 2012.  If you would like one, please let me know asap or order online by clicking here.

Happy Mother's Day 2012!

Sunday, May 13, 2012

I wanted to wish every special mom a wonderful Mother's Day!  Especially to my wonderful mom!!  Did I mention that I have a great mother-in-law too?  They deserve a special day off!

Here is a card I made with them in mind.  Love the colour combo of Poppy Parade and Baja Breeze.  Such a fresh combo!  Did you notice to subtle amount of shimmer from our Dazzling Details in the center of the blossoms?

I am really enjoying the Mixed Bunch stamp set!  Expect to see a lot more of it on this blog!  :)

Thinking of You...

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

It's been such a long time since I last posted!  I've been busy trying to focus on my business locally and that has taken some time away from blogging but I've been missing the blog a lot!

The Retiring List has been released and there are some amazing stamps and accessories that are being discontinued...to make room for some amazing new stamps!  The Pocket Silhouettes stamp set is being discontinued as is the Lace Border Punch.  I just love that punch!  Make sure to pick it up before the end of May because it is only available while supplies last!  Click here to view the entire retiring list.

Tip: Using a darker accent colour, like Night of Navy on Bashful Blue adds a simple elegance to your card.

Stretching Your Stampin' Dollar

Sunday, February 5, 2012

I wanted to start a series of posts related to getting the biggest bang for your buck with Stampin' Up products because, let's face it, most of us don't have all the money in the world to spend on our craft supplies, no matter how badly we would like to!  This is super relevant even in my own life and regardless of my discount on supplies, I still struggle!

The first place you will want to start is with your stamp sets.  They are definitely your biggest expense but at least they will last you for forever!  So when you are deciding which stamp sets to buy with your hard earned money, make sure that you go for some versatility!  I know that when I am shopping in the catalogue I tend to think more about a specific event that is happening, like a baby shower, and then focus on the sets that serve that occasion only.  They are super cute, of course, but often times, those sets cannot be used for a different occasion such as a sympathy or birthday card.  Try to find some sets that you could use for several different occasions as those will offer you the versatility and longevity that you need when shopping on a tight budget.

I've compiled a list of some of the great versatile stamp sets that are currently available:

Easy Events (116958) - Covers all your bases!

 Word Play (120308)

You're My Type (125650)

Just Believe (116948)

Button Buddies (122735)
There are so many different occasions that you could use these stamp sets.  You will definitely get your money's worth if you try any one.

Another way to stretch your Stampin' Dollar...shopping from the Clearance Rack.  Right now there are lots of previous style punches (same current designs just different handling) and lots of buttons and ribbons that were only just discontinued!  To checkout what is current in the Clearance Rack click here.

Need a copy of the catalogue?  Email me at karolinastamps@gmail.com your name and Canadian address and I will send you one right away!  Please, only if you don't have a relationship with another demonstrator.

The Starter Kit is now only $150 during Sale-A-Bration!  You get $425 worth of products in this amazing kit!  PLUS get a free pack of Designer Series Paper or a Digital Download every month for the rest of 2012 whenever you make a purchase!  Join my team!  Click here for more info.

Beveled Window Pane Birthday

Monday, January 30, 2012

Here is my next creation using Stampin' Up's Beveled Window Panes, using one of my favourite In-Colours, Island Indigo!  This time instead of tying a knot or bow with the ribbon at the bottom of the window pane, I carefully opened up a Glimmer Brad and wrapped the prongs around the ribbon.  Then I put the brad through a hole I made using my Paper Piercing Tool.  I really like the clean look of it.

I cracked open my Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack for the background.  What a great way to get a lot of detail without spending a lot of time!

Sale-A-Bration is now on!  Click here to place your order!

To create this card you will need:

Stamp Set: Elementary Elegace Stamp Set Sale-A-Bration Exclusive (125120)

Beveled Window Pane Week!

Sunday, January 29, 2012

I was given the challenge to come up with some projects using Stampin' Up's Beveled Window Panes.  I have to be honest, I really didn't know much about this product but I was up to the challenge!  I'm going to be posting my creations all week.

Beveled window panes are a great way to embellish your projects.  They come in 3 different sizes and have two openings that allow your ribbon to go through and secure the paper behind it.  The bigger window panes allow for wider ribbon but since I didn't have wider ribbon in Daffodil Delight I was able to thread the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon!  I really like the two ribbon effect!

This is a great gender neutral card for an expectant mommy-to-be!

Sale-A-Bration is now on!  Click here to place your order!

To create this card you will need:

Stamp Set: Fox and Friends (118565), Curly Cute (120510)
Paper: Crumb Cake (119686), Marina Mist (119682), Daffodil Delight (119683), Whisper White (100730)
Ink:  Daffodil Delight (119667), Crumb Cake (119670)
Embellishments:  Beveled Window Panes (121881), 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Daffodil Delight (120928)

Happy Birthday - The Sale-A-Bration way!

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

This is a birthday card created using almost exclusively Sale-A-Bration 2012 products!  The only pieces not from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue are: Whisper White Cardstock and Pool Party Ink!  You could make this card pop out even more by using the Curly Label punch on the "Happy Birthday" but it is not a punch that I own yet believe it or not!  Definitely on my must-buy list this spring.  It was actually pretty difficult to choose the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper to use as a background because there are so many nice designs to choose from!

The Organdy ribbon is so light that you can actually use snail adhesive to adhere it to the Designer Series Paper.  No need for glue dots or sticky strip!

Stamp Set: Elementary Elegance A Sale-A-Bration exclusive set (125122)
Paper: Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Calypso Coral Cardstock (122925), Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper Sale-A-Bration Exclusive (126154)
Ink:  Pool Party (122938)
Embellishments: Calypso Coral 1/8" Organdy Ribbon Sale-A-Bration Exclusive (127279)
Tools:  3/16" Corner Punch (119871)

Dazzling Details - The Cherry on Top!

Friday, January 13, 2012

I fell in love right away with Dazzling Details (a type of glitter glue) when it came out in the Christmas Mini Catalogue in 2011.  I used it on about 80% of my Christmas cards!!  Well....now it is available in Cherry Cobbler!  This amazing product dries to a consistently beautiful bright red.  Did you notice the heart dry embossed border?  Also new in the Occasions Mini Catalogue!

Here is a sweet little card that can be used for Valentine's Day or even for a birthday.

Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes (111618)                                                        Paper: Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Real Red Cardstock (102482), Red Glimmer Paper (121790)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (100908)
Embellishments:  Dazzling Details Cherry Cobbler (125585), Dazzling Details (124117)
Tools:  Big Shot (113439), Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (125601),  Small Heart Punch (117193)
